During uploading or updating the OS on the iPAQ units ROM, the system can fail and the iPAQ will not boot up now.

Key symptoms of a corrupt iPAQ system ROM include the PDA locking up at the red and white Compaq boot screen. You will also find you are unable to progress past the Pocket pc (white/red) bootup screen with Compaq logo and the ROM version in the lower right hand corner of the display.

You are not the proud owner of an expensive paperweight the system ROM can be restored just send in your iPAQ.
